Taking advantage of more recent graphics cards’ ability to use two or more displays at the same time isn’t a luxury most can afford, but the issue is not always about money. Sometimes, it is more about space as having two monitors at the same time does take up quite a bit of space, despite how compact LCD monitors can be nowadays. Perhaps you may need an alternative solution that is much more portable and still serviceable.

Maybe you would be surprised and scratching your head in disbelief upon laying your eyes on the Mimo Mini USB Monitor for the first time. A 7” monitor that does not even have an external AC adapter is not exactly impressive in most people’s standards. However, take note that this little thing can provide you with an extra display with only power coming from a USB port. This just goes to show how energy-efficient monitor displays can be nowadays.

This tiny monitor can run entirely off a USB port, giving you an extra mini display whenever and wherever you need it. It does not even need an extra video card as it can handle its own with a built-in video card and can change orientations, whether portrait or landscape, depending on your preferences. This little appliance is great for laptops as it can be carried anywhere without any hassle. There’s even a touchscreen version that is even more worth your cash.
This device has both Windows and Mac driver support, which is good to know. It can do well for graphic artists who can do wonders with an extra screen. For seven inches, it does pretty well with a resolution of 800×480. With a brightness of 350 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 400:1, it means that you do not need to squint to see what you need to see. For something this small, the Mimo Mini USB Monitor is quite a little marvel.
