Asus, the first company who bought you the cheapest netbook around has another surprise up on its sleeves, introducing the new Asus S101 Eee PC. It is aimed especially to most executives and it feels more like the advance ASUS U6 ultraportable laptop compared to the other Eee PC available in the market.
The Asus S101 Eee PC only weights at 1.1kg but considering the fact that you have already been using a laptop it may sound a little light and fat free. It can go up to 4 hours battery life and make your other previous machines robust and obsolete. Don’t forget it’s a netbook, and it only measures in a measly 25mm at its thickest point the thinnest Eee PC to date.
The Asus S101 comes in with a glossy lid finish and brushed metal on the inside, with a chrome finish on the edge and also on the hinge making it sexy and stylish for the all around executive among us.
The S101 tops the Eee PC netbooks, since it has the brightest LED among the rest. The LED measures at 10.2 inches with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. The screen s backlit so it can be switched on and off when the time you need to conserve battery. It is equipped with a Intel GMA 950 chipset that can handle even the toughest of challenge.
The keyboard is comfortable to use, it doesn’t stick and it is easy to type considering it is well built and mounted. The touchpad is good, just as good as the keyboard in place. And for the storage, expect a 16Gb solid state drive supported by a 16GB memory and for expanded use you can throw in a SDHC card slot, making the memory up to 32GB in total. It runs on a Microsoft Windows XP, and it boots as faster than the average netbook.
