Since the mobile phone revolution, one of the more previous accessories most people used to have has literally disappeared: the wrist watch. Probably because most people can tell time with their mobile phones and even do more with it rather than buy a watch that does only one specific thing: tell time.
It’s about time that the ‘ol gadget goes back into style and usage as some users have been finding it inconvenient to whip out their phone everytime they need to know the time of day. It’s great then that we were able to gather some news about the watch–updated to the 21st century of course.
If you’ve ever wished that you could talk to other people using your wrist watch like Dick Tracey (if you’re too young to know him, please use google), then it may not be too far away as LG has been developing one for a long time: the DG910 watch phone.
According to Engadget, they were able to get a released FCC filing that shows the image below:
The image you see above is being provided courtesy of a freshly released FCC filing, which means precisely one thing: this here watch phone is destined for America. Of course, we suppose LG could have just made the filing for kicks and giggles, but our optimistic imagination simply won’t let us believe such a tragedy could ever occur.
How will people react once this comes out? We’ll see once it does, and we’l be there to cover it when it does.
Watchmakers should have something of a gimmick when they create new watches, and we think we see one in the Twilight Watch. Nope, no connection whatsoever with the book, the movie, or Robert Pattinson. Although we might say that it glitters above other watches due to its one feature:
The face fades from light to black and back every 20 seconds, reminding us of the ever changing evolution of time. The optical effect is created using two polarized disks that rotate with the seconds.
Goths would probably adore this but us daywalkers may see it as a tad bit unconventional at most.
We hope the wrist watch makes a comeback of sorts; just to make us realize what we’re missing…
